Who we are

An independent public relations consultancy, Wild Card was launched by Kate Wild in 1997. Working with major consumer brands, Wild Card has built up a range of high profile clients in food, drink, home, lifestyle, leisure and tourism.

In 2008 Wild Card's 'Wild West' office was opened in Cornwall - today servicing an impressive range of clients on both a regional and national scale.

The agency now employs a team of 30 across both offices, operating fluidly across both traditional and digital media platforms.

  • Kate Wild

    Managing Director  »

    Kate started her career in PR over 20 years ago, with six years at Hill & Knowlton in the consumer marketing division, before moving to Wearne Associates and then setting up Wild Card in the mid-nineties. 

    With a focus always on consumer brands, Kate's experience encompasses consumer, corporate, B2B, issue consultancy and crisis management.  Early clients included companies such as The National Dairy Council (now DairyCo), St Ivel, Kellogg's, RHM Foods (brands including Bisto, McDougalls and Robertson's), John West, Quorn, Tupperware and The Post Office. 

    In 1994, Kate started working as an independent PR consultant for clients including Merchant Gourmet, John Cullen Lighting and KitchenAid (still a client of Wild Card today).  With a growing client roster, Wild Card was born in 1997. 

    Kate works across the Wild Card client base delivering strategic consultancy, with specific input on issue and crisis management as required. 

  • Lindsay Stewart

    Director  »

    Lindsay served her PR apprenticeship in the consumer department of The Communications Group working on accounts such as the California Prune and Walnut Marketing Boards. In 1986, aged 25, she she up Conal Walsh & Stewart Limited with one of her colleagues and successfully specialised in the food and drink sectors for the next ten years during which time she directed accounts including the Glenfiddich Food & Drink Awards, Sacla' and William Grant & Sons (Glenfiddich, The Glefiddich Distillery and Balvenie brands).  

    In 1996 she was appointed first to the board of Richmond Towers and the following year to the Board of Grayling where she headed up accounts including Le Creuset, Screwpull, London Tourist Board and BBC Good Food Awards.

    Lindsay joined Wild Card in September 2003 and oversees a group of Food, Spirits and Homes accounts. 

     

  • Nishita Assomull

    Divisional Director  »

    Nish started her PR career in the Public Affairs department of the National Farmers Union where she managed a number of farming and countryside campaigns for British Beef, amongst others.   She also launched the Red Tractor accreditation scheme with the then Prime Minister Tony Blair.  

    Nish joined Wild Card in 2000 as an Account Executive and is now a Divisional Director having worked across a broad spread of clients, encompassing consumer, business to business, corporate and issue and crisis management campaigns.

    Now responsible for a portfolio of Food and Lifestyle brands at Wild Card, Nish also provides media and trends insight across the business. 

     

  • Tessa Willmott

    Divisional Director  »

    Starting out in the luxury hotel sector in London and Hong Kong, Tessa progressed into agency PR specialising in the entertainment and leisure sectors, looking after high profile clients including Universal and Momentum Pictures, Harper Collins and leading consumer events company Brand Events.

    She subsequently joined Brand Events to launch Taste of London in 2003 and spent the following seven years growing the event into one of the world's foremost food and drink festivals, working closely with leading chefs and restaurants whilst also managing the communications process. Tess contracted Wild Card to run the Taste of London PR for three years and was delighted to jump the fence to join the team at Wild Card team as Divisional Director in 2010, taking on a portfolio of accounts in the Food, Drink, Leisure and Tourism sectors.
