The past month at Wild Card has been both brilliant and buzzing. Now that we’re properly settled in to our new home in the heart of Oxford St, it’s really beginning to feel as though this is where we belong; right in the middle of everything!
I’ve been involved with the Villeroy & Boch tableware event which happened yesterday. Rather than your usual Christmas in July event we covered all occasions and reasons to get together from New Years through to BBQs. The lead up to the event was really enjoyable and I learnt a lot from Sylvia Oakley (V&B’s in-house stylist) on how to arrange the perfect table settings and make any occasion that extra bit special. The product knowledge I’ve gained has been fantastic and I’ve really enjoyed working so closely with the team at Villeroy & Boch.
In other news, I’ve been involved with some exciting new ventures for luxury bathroom client Catchpole & Rye. Although this is top-secret still very much under wraps, I’ve had the chance to see how our clients can truly branch out into various different areas of the consumer world.
And – how could I forget – the grand opening party at Parker Hobart last month. It was lovely to put so many buy cheap diflucan faces to names after all of those emails and phone conversations. The evening went really well and the bunting is still up, mainly because I’m refusing to take it down! It was interesting to see the other side of PR and the interpersonal and networking skills which the team here have in abundance. I chatted to some lovely people including press and clients and have learnt that you can never order too much beer!
With all the events aside I’ve been so pleased to see pieces of coverage pop up which I’ve secured. I’m beginning to notice how certain people react and relate to press releases which we send out and how I should target specific publications – whether they are consumer magazines, blogs or websites. Loaning products to stylists or members of the press has also been a hot topic recently. We’ve seen wonderful shoots for Villeroy & Boch tableware and Catchpole & Rye. It’s so nice when the idea a stylist has fits perfectly with the product we have here at PH and we can work together harmoniously.
With last month zooming past, I’m sure I will have a heap of things to mention in my next post. Until then enjoy the sun *smirk*.
