Last weekend we were fortunate to conduct a press trip with our favourite Mediterranean gin, Gin Mare. Joining us on our voyage across three Balearic Islands in three days were media from Metro, BBC Good Food, Square Meal and Menswear Style. 

We set out on a journey to discover the finest cuisine at the most inspirational chef’s restaurants, taking in the unique tastes, sights, smells of the beautiful Balearics.

First stop on the trip was lunch in Palma, Mallorca at famed seafood restaurant Can’ Eduardo. Sharing platters of fresh mussels, razor clams, lobster and prawns lined the table, a nice way to start following an early rise for the airport.


Following lunch was a trip to Flor de Sal D’es Trenc, producers of Mallorca’s purest and most precious sea salts. Certain meteorological conditions create an aromatic, mineral-rich salt that crystallises on the surface sea water flats. Flor de Sal D’es Trenc is available in 18 countries worldwide, we recommend using it to release the surface tension of a Gin Mare martini


Next up was our late night flight to the Gin Mare Villa on the north coast of Ibiza. The lavish eight bedroom property overlooked the Mediterranean ocean and coastline which stands out with its large infinity pool. Complete with three bars and a Josper Grill, the guests were never short of a cool cocktail and local seasonal grilled dishes.

The following morning we trekked through the local resident’s food markets to purchase a selection of fresh meat, fish, bread, fruit and vegetables. We brought them back to the villa and were lucky enough to have them cooked by our professional resident chef and Josper grill-man!


The final night was a real highlight, checking out the Adria Brother’s latest restaurant Heart Ibiza, a culmination of creative gastronomy and live entertainment from Cirque de Soleil. Roughly 25 tasting dishes, each as wacky as the next, washed down with Gin Mare & Tonic. The beef rib tacos are a particular highlight as is the squid ceviche.


On the final day with slightly weary eyes and wobbly legs, we took a speed boat tour from Ibiza docks to Formantera for a spot of emerald sea swimming and lunchof the best squid in all the islands at Es Molí de Sal.

Three days, three islands, a lot of Gin Mare and some beautiful sunshine. A fantastic press trip to result in some serious features for the finest Mediterranean gin, Gin Mare.
