Blogger influence over consumer purchasing is ever growing and as a PR agency, connecting with bloggers is a crucial part of the job. In June, we travelled to Germany with three lifestyle bloggers: Boo & Maddie, Oyster & Pearl and Love Chic Living to visit the home of of our heritage tableware and bathroom brand, Villeroy & Boch.

A key motivation behind the trip was to build brand awareness within the blogging community and for the bloggers to find a connection with the Villeroy & Boch brand to relay to their valuable followers. The bloggers were absorbed into the brand immediately when ‘LG’ Von Boch, 10th generation of the Villeroy & Boch family, met us on arrival. He regaled us with the wealth of history behind the Villeroy & Boch brand, including how the company survived throughout WW1. The bloggers were also fascinated to learn how Anna Boch, third generation of the famous lineage, is in fact the only person to have owned a Van Gough masterpiece during his lifetime and to see first hand the original Villeroy & Boch tiles rescued from the Titanic shipwreck!

Providing the bloggers with inspiring photo opportunities was of paramount importance to ensure there was exciting material for their social channels. This was available in abundance, from the beautifully decorated tableware displays and the industrial-look bathroom showroom, to the familial castle where we had afternoon tea and the top secret tableware and bathroom factories where we witnessed hand painting and finishing first hand.

To wrap up the jam-packed schedule we extended our international blogger network by having lunch at a trendy new BBQ burger van, Betty Buvette (stylishly equipped with Villeroy & Boch’s latest BBQ Passion collection) with a famous food blogger from Luxembourg Anne Faber, @anneskitchentv.

The trip was a great success for both the client and the bloggers resulting in coverage and brand engagement. You can read about their experience on their social channels: @booandmaddie @lovechicliving @lottie_storey
