Wild Card invited a select group of food media to enjoy the launch of a limited edition Cervezas Alhambra pairing menu created by renowned chef Ben Tish, showcasing tasty Mediterranean charcoal smoked dishes cooked with Granada’s famed craft beer.
Ben Tish made his name on the London restaurant scene with his Mediterranean twists on tapas. He is now a partner with the Salt Yard group and his influence can be seen across the four award-winning restaurants.
Ember Yard features a custom built, Basque-style grill that infuses dishes with an authentic smoky flavour redolent of the region. Ben has just finished his second book, focusing on the charcoal-smoked dishes Ember Yard is now famous for.
Ben recreated a selection of his favourite dishes using the Spanish crafted beer, Alhambra Reserva 1925, a hand-crafted premium lager, Alhambra Especial, a premium lager brewed using 100% natural ingredients, and Mezquita, a superior red lager beer. Joining us at the table Ben talked through each plate as it arrived and explained how each beer was used and incorporated into the dishes.

Gloucester Old Spot Port Chop, Alhambra Reserva 1925 Glaze, Grelot Onions and Mojo Verde
Roasted Almond Cake with Mezquita, Spiced Ice Cream and Poached Cherries.
