Among the whirlwind of London Design Festival, which kicks off this weekend, a moment of respite can be found as the team at Wild Card visits Decorex International. The leading interior design show opens on Sunday 19th September in the grounds of Syon Park. Thankfully, Decorex is within arm’s length of the hubbub in town, but an unmissable and much celebrated destination for the design industry. Wild Card is representing Parker & Farr (Stand A52) and David Hunt Lighting (Stand D37), which are among the 400 exhibitors this year. There’s a lot to see, so we’ve rounded up the things at the top of our agenda:
Decorex has announced a collaboration with 14 of the finest luxury surface design studios in the UK at a new ‘Material Lab’. Visitors will see a breadth of materials from embroidered wallpaper to gilded glass. Our picks are Anthony Roussel, CUSTHOM and Solomon & Wu.
Bert & May Spaces
Property company Bert & May Spaces will launch ‘Berts Bigger Box’ at the entrance to the show. The simple and tactile accommodation has been designed for those looking for extra space in which to live, work or play. Visitors will have the chance to explore these spaces on arrival and learn more about the notion of modular, transportable living.
Some of the industry’s most celebrated and influential names will take to the Decorex Seminar Theatre to discuss the big talking points of the design world. We’ll be sitting comfortably and listening closely to designer Noe Duchaufour on the French design industry, Conrad Smith on reviving the Lanesborough, an LED Survivors Guide with Luke Thomas of John Cullen Lighting and Giles Kime of Homes & Gardens in conversation with Abigail Ahern.
Ones to Watch
The pleasure of Decorex is in the dynamic spread of its exhibitors. As design lovers, we will be soaking up inspiration everywhere, but here are just a few brands we’re particularly excited to see: Chadder & Co, Tom Faulkner, Graham and Green and Mineheart.
…we might take a pit stop at the Russell Sage designed champagne bar too. See you there! *Clink*
