The Wild Card team, helped set-up a Great British Bake-Off for employees of the Jordans and Ryvita Company. The evening event was held  at theJordans Mill heritage site with the group being split into seven teams of five for the challenges set by Edd. Edd demonstrated how to make his tasty Honey Nut Granola bars and then asked the team to create their own customised versions. This task included decorating the bars with a selection of dark, milk and white chocolate – yum!

In true bake-off style, disaster struck for one team when they didn’t add any honey to the mixture and were left with a crumbled pile of twice baked granola!

For the ‘Show-Stopper’ Challenge, each team was given a blank iced cake as a canvas and asked to use a selection of cake decorating items including food colouring, 100s and 1000s and icing sugar pens to create a show stopper in 45 minutes! The competitive teams were quick to start planning and designing their cakes with the advice of expert baker Edd.

Once both challenges were completed it was time for the judging, Edd was extremely impressed with the standard of the granola bars and decorating of the cakes, with some even emulating the recent Jordans advertising. After all the hard work and efforts the winning teams were announced; the winner of the granola bar design was a creation of the Union Jack Flag with a mixture of melted chocolate toppings and the winner of the cake design was a stunning creation of a bee hive with buzzing bees.

Each winner was awarded with a signed copy of Edd’s book The Boy Who Bakes and the kudos of being named baking champions![/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
