On 28th September, Parker Hobart thought they would put their well-honed baking skills to good use and embark on a busy day of cake-selling for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Although we did obviously all agree on the important key message – to raise at least £250 for charity – there was definitely a competitive edge to the event. The pressure was especially felt when less domesticated employees overheard their fellow team members discuss their Gruyère and Caramelised Onion tarts with a side option of Courgette and Goats Cheese Muffins (oh god, is there a Betty Crocker recipe for that?!)

However, on the day the whole stall was swept clean and customers left looking happy. In retrospect, they were most probably just laughing at our tea-lady head gear and debatable aprons but if it meant we attracted crowds it was definitely worth the ridicule. We smashed our target of £250 and raised a whopping £423!

Many thanks to all those that contributed to our JustGiving page and came-by to support us. Macmillan Cancer Support fantastic organisation that makes a huge difference so we really are extremely grateful.
