A 12 course pairing menu with Alhambra Reserva 1925 at COYA

Wild Card invited a group of top foodies to an evening of modern Peruvian dining as part of the #UnobviousBeer campaign at Coya restaurant, paired with hand-crafted lager Alhambra Reserva 1925.

Head chef Sanjay Dwivedi created a 12 course ‘pairing sharing’ feast, with the craft beer featuring as an ingredient to each recipe. The dynamic menu was an innovative approach to hero-ing the craft beer’s tasting notes in an unusual way.

The evening started with a selection of ceviche and light dishes including Seabream Criollo served with Amarillo Chilli, and Salmón Nikkei, paired with Alhambra for its mild taste.

Next was the Gambas Fritos, battered in chilled Alhambra and tempura flour, giving a lightness to the crispy batter and an excellent crunch.

The Costillas de Res came shortly afterwards; beef ribs marinated and cooked in Alhambra to make the meat tender and flavoursome.

The evening came to an end with an incredible selection of desserts, including a salted caramel ganache and a selection of fresh fruit to cleanse the palate. As part of the #UnobviousBeer communications campaign, the activation brought to light the versatile Spanish craft beer Alhambra Reserva 1925.
