Celebrating London Design Festival
First staged in 2003, the London Design Festival is one of the world’s most important annual design events. Starting on the 17th September, the Festival programme is made up of over 400 events and exhibitions staged over one week by hundreds of partner organisations across the design spectrum and from around the world.
A key event in the diary for the Wild Card Homes & Lifestyle Division, the London Design Festival is an exciting opportunity to discover the latest trends, newest design talent and brands and an excellent chance to network among industry peers.
A true highlight of this year’s programme is set to be the newly launched Brixton Design Trail, described as the ‘self-styled rebels in the pack’, with a mission to put design on the streets where everyone can bump into it. Using the public realm as a canvas, heritage buildings, historic murals and developments will be animated with colour, pattern and some surprising interventions, to surprise and provoke this dynamic community.
There will also be a number of Wild Card clients exhibiting at events across the week, including a stunning platinum bed installation at the JAB, showroom in association with Vi-Spring and And So To Bed, to celebrate their 70th anniversary. Showroom visitors will be in with a chance to win the entire bedroom set by tweeting or instagramming a picture of the bed with the hashtag #WINaBedroom.
Head to Decorex to see David Hunt Lighting and their incredible mad-men style stand, along with the debut of Samuel & Sons, who will also be exhibiting at Focus. British upholstery manufacturer Parker & Farr will also launch their Design Collective at their Kings Road showroom, as an official partner of LDF.
