Focus at London Design Festival: What We’ve Seen
Focus at London Design Festival is one of many key dates in the diary of any design aficionado, and with 500 of the biggest brands showcasing until the 25th September, naturally we hotfooted it straight down to where it is located; the Design Centre Chelsea Harbour.
In addition to engaging talks with industry professionals, there’s the chance to get the inside track at over 100 access-all-area sessions and have a first look at Autumn/Winter collections, including Wild Card’s own Samuel & Sons trimmings. There’s incredible installations and pop-ups too from the likes of Banksy, which are best appreciated from the comfort of the Tatler Restaurant.
A hotly anticipated element this year is the Conversations in Design series. On Sunday we listened to India Hicks and Giles Kime discussing Maximalism versus Minimalism and on Thursday, Livingetc’s Suzanne Imre is hosting ‘The Secrets to Creating Individual Style’ – which looks to be a lively discussion with designers and authors, with afternoon tea at the Sanderson showroom afterwards.
Thankfully there’s no excuse to miss out as there is a courtesy shuttle service from Sloane Square to the Design Centre. Otherwise, keep up to date with the brilliant news feed on Focus’ social channels: Twitter, Pinterest and Facebook.
