Taco Bell’s #GoldenTaco campaign
Taco Bell, our client and pioneers of Mexican fast food cuisine continued its Live Más march across the UK with the opening of its thirteenth UK restaurant this week, the first in the South of England in Southampton. GoldenTaco Campaign.
To support the opening, our digital team set out to maximise reach and engagement across all of Taco Bell’s social channels to raise awareness. The #GoldenTaco campaign encouraged followers of the brand to head out around the city in search of a taco-shaped plaque, posting a few cryptic clues hinting at secret locations where they were hidden. The finder of one of the three tacos would win a year’s supply of Taco Bell.
Overall, the campaign reached in excess of 65,000 people and increase brand awareness in the week prior to the branch’s opening.
The 67-seated restaurant launched with new creations on the menu; Cheesy Bacon Fries Burrito Box and the Chocodilla made with KitKat®. The opening was followed by a VIP launch party attended by over 30 local media and bloggers. Everyone left with goodie bags, full stomachs and lots of content for articles and social posts.
