This year’s London Design Festival was a real treat and as thousands of designers and brands descended on the Capital, we split up and each explored what each show had to offer!
I started at 100% Design which saw a collective of talented exhibitors come together at Earl’s Court. The main ‘hub’ centered around a particularly handy bar, led me through to the different sections of the show with everything from kitchens & bathrooms to textiles and eco-friendly brands.
Although the standard this year was incredibly strong, my top picks included Original BTC, Buster & Punch and 7Gods. One of the key trends I saw come out of the show this year included a large influence of metals. The 100% Design exhibitors are using everything from copper to titanium. This ‘metallic’ trend, which we’ve also spotted on the catwalks, has well and truly been adopted by the interiors world!
I then whizzed over to the hip and trendy Sorting Office for Design Junction. This year the Sorting Office had an exciting, bustling vibe which I relished in! Young designers’ work is always visually stimulating and this year was no different. As I took a breather by the Soda Stream pop-up bar, trends I noticed seemed to include elaborate textile work, a huge wave of brilliant lighting ideas and bright, neon colours. My top picks this year include Gavin Coyle, Modus, Apollo and Bravo!
