Amidst a media agenda packed with stories about so-called ‘me me me’ and ‘selfish’ generations – altruistic, selfless and inspiring endeavours so often do not get the recognition they deserve.
At the start of September this year, New Covent Garden Soup Co. set out to change that and to recognise and reward the ‘souper’ individuals who go above and beyond to help others.
This week, twelve regional ‘Souper Star’ winners were announced. Comprising fundraisers, founders of local initiatives, volunteers, those who have helped members of their community and those who have supported friends and family through difficult times, the full list of regional winners can be found here: http://bit.ly/2hCHXhS
Each will be rewarded with an all-expenses paid buy diflucan cvs mini-break in central London in January and award dinner. One overall winner will also be named; receiving £2,500 to donate to a charity of their choice and a £2,500 gift card for themselves.
Psychologist Honey Langcaster-James will speak at the awards dinner and choose the final winner. On the importance of making and recognising selfless endeavors, Honey commented; ‘The importance of good deeds in society cannot be overstated and sometimes it can be the smallest gesture that can go the longest way.’
Wild Card and New Covent Garden Soup Coare looking forward to continuing to celebrate and reward these true ‘Souper Stars’, and helping to put altruism back on the agenda.
