For the past two months a team of Wild Card fast food enthusiasts have been working hard on a creative campaign for fast food giant – Taco Bell UK. It’s fair to say that not many people knew that Taco Bell was here in the UK or that they were now serving Sol Cerveza Beer, becoming the first fast food chain in the UK to sell alcohol!
From this, #TacoSolMate was born and became the basis for our integrated media campaign that would conclude in a ‘tweet to eat’ event last Friday at selected restaurants. Dedicated fans came from far and wide could take a selfie with the famous taco hat and post it on social media with #TacoSolMate for free tacos or nachos.
By sending the media a fun box of beers and their very own Taco Hat, getting key local influencers to create a social buzz for their followers and through targeting social posts, #TacoSolMate was mentioned 100’s of times within a two hour period on the night and over 25,000,000 people were reached by the campaign.
