The place to be this week was The Sleep Event at the Business Design Centre in Islington, which showcased the most exciting and innovative products for the hotel sector. We were thrilled to find that JAB Anstoez was selected by the Hickson Design Partnership to collaborate on their ‘Night Night Suite’ in the Sleep Hotel at the show.
The Hickson Design Partnership is a London & Turin Architecture and Interior Design practice, so specialise in hospitality & high end residential projects. Established in 2004 by partners Nicholas Hickson and Manuela Mannino, the studio has brought together some of Britain & Italy’s diverse design talents to service the most prestigious design clients.
The HDP created a statement room within the Sleep Event called the Night Night Suite, which included fabrics from JAB. A fabulous statement monochrome room, with a few coloured accents, the room had a retro feel, which was accentuated by a large piece of artwork that’s image was altered – depending on how you stood in front of it.
One of the key trends we spotted at the show was the emphasis on sleek bathrooms. There were some new and innovative products on show, including a sensory shower by Dorn Bracht, which smelled delightful and had a relaxing coloured lighting showerhead. Once we saw the full display, we were ready to grab a towel and give it a test!
Another point of interest was the huge statement that dominated the main hall of Sleep. Created by Preciosa, this breath taking piece was the focal point of the show in the main hall. Called ‘The Hurricane of Inspiration’ it was designed by Czech glass artist & designer Jitka Kamencova Skuhrava – and we loved it!
